Our Story

Fire Island Pines Home is a comfortable and welcoming home with one main house request: to relax and have a splendid stay! Enjoy our 360˚ panoramic rooftop deck, sunbath or soak on our sauna deck, swim in the pool–all with full views–or just hang out in the deck spaces, on a private deck or in your own private bedroom space.

What do I need to bring?

We have everything from lotion to boogie boards. You need to bring yourself, relax and enjoy paradise!

As for clothing bring beachwear, bring something to lounge in, bring something to go out on the town in, and bring something warm as well (appropriate for the season) in case you get a chill after being in the sun, or want to walk on the beach at night.

Don’t worry about other stuff like beach towels and [insert whatever you are thinking], as we are a home that has been handling guests for a very long time. We’ve got you covered!

What is the kitchen like? What do we do about meals, food and supplies?

We have a fully stocked kitchen, with all the modern appliances you could need, quality cookware, and all the utensils as well–all the things most cooks have at home. We also have a gorgeous outside BBQ, with a second sink area and dishwasher.

There is the local food Pantry that is open 9-6 daily. The pantry has pretty much anything you could want. Feel free to shop and store stuff in a private fridge. We can also recommend catering.

Is there good Wi-Fi internet and how do I access it?

We have the best internet on the island with our own dedicated channel. We supply high power Wi-Fi service to most of the east end of the island.

What are the restaurant options that you suggest?
  • Pines Bistro Upscale Italian fare. Dinner, daily from 6pm-11:00pm (closed Tuesdays).
  • Pines Pizza– Economical Italian fare like: sandwiches and pizza!
  • Canteen Casual dining on the bay serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monday-Thursday: 7am-9pm, Friday-Sunday: 7am-11pm

How do I get there?

By car, take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 59 South.

Turn right at the first light onto Ocean Avenue (Route 93).

Follow that for 6.5 miles continuing onto Main Street in Sayville.

Follow the Fire Island Ferry signs to the ferry landing docks.

There are parking spaces available across from the ferry landing for $7/day during the week and $8/day on the weekends.

By train, take the Long Island Rail Road to Sayville. Taxis and vans (Colonial: 888-451-9511) meet the trains and charge $3-6 for the ride to the Sayville ferry.

By air, fly in to any NYC area airport (JFK, LGA, NWK–in order of proximity) and take a taxi to Penn Station to take the Long Island Rail Road to Sayville. Taxis and vans (Colonial: 888-451-9511) meet the trains and charge $3-6 for the ride to the Sayville ferry.

If you fly in to the nearby MacArthur Airport (ISP, 16 minutes away) then contact a van service like Colonial: 888-451-9511 for airport to ferry transportation.

No train, another option from any airport is to to take an inter-airport van service to our nearby MacArthur Airport (ISP, 16 minutes away) then contact a van service like Colonial: 888-451-9511 for MacArthur Airport to ferry transportation.
